Dr Fiona Groom’s Retirement

After 36 years working for the NHS, Dr Fiona Groom has decided to retire on the 26 April 2021. She feels very privileged to have been able to be part of so many of your lives and would like to wish you all the very best for the future. We are making a book of messages to commemorate her time at Dapdune. If you would like to contribute, please either post a note through the practice letterbox or send an email to syheartlandsccg.dapduneretirementbook@nhs.net.

Dr Catherine Ash, BSc (Hons) MBBS MRCGP, will be joining the surgery at the beginning of May and will be responsible for the medical care of Dr Groom’s patients. However, you can book your appointments with any of the GPs at the practice.

Dr Ash studied medicine at University College London, graduating in 2013. During her time as an undergraduate, she also completed a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences with Human Genetics. She has since remained local to Guildford to complete her general practice vocational training and has worked locally as a salaried GP since 2019. Dr Ash has interests in women’s health and in care of the older person and places huge importance on a holistic approach and the value of listening. When she is not at the surgery, she has a passion for dance and amateur dramatics.
